VIGILANTi is a social project instigator that seeks to address the underlying issues facing urban communities through innovative and collaborative spatial design solutions. Popular development strategies that only focus on urban growth and economic return, rather than positive social outcomes, have led to a wealth of social issues and injustices that are currently neglected or inadequately addressed by planning authorities. Building and design should reflect social needs rather than a tool merely for financial profits.
We believe unique social issues should be addressed with unique solutions, developed through thorough community engagement, a research-based approach and innovative problem-solving strategies. Buildings are only part of the solution but resolving social issues can only be a result of first understanding social needs.
