Vineyard Hill Resort

The cabins are in a beautiful place, but sad to say it all needs some serious love and investment. Our cabin had not been vacuumed, the couch was filthy, the deck had a thick layer of dirt on the furniture and there was toothpaste all over the bathroom mirror and in the sink from the last people. It has SO much potential, someone just needs to invest more into it (people, time, money, fresh coat of paint and some gardening). Happy to give it a go again once this happens!

Deeply average place, would not go back. The sofa in our cabin was disgusting, I sat on it for about 10 minutes and started to sneeze and get a runny nose. Bed linen had been washed but still had like a shoe print stain. The lady appears to run this place all by herself, cleans, checks in/out, and you have to call her should you need any assistance at all.
Although the location is great the rest was a bit of a let down

Cosy comfortable cabins. If you ask ahead of time, you might be lucky enough to have a dumplings and wine dinner prepared for you. Heaven on a plate.

The place has potential. Its in a great location with great views. Cleaning of laundry and rooms could be improved. Stained bed settings aren't very inviting.

This place has gone downhill dramatically since taking on new ownership. There is never anybody at reception and if you need anything (I.e. To check in). You have to call and the owner will take 10-15 minutes to drive down, if you can get through to her, which on trying to check in, we couldn't. The rooms are absolutely fumigated with a revolting "air freshener" that after 24 hours with all the windows open we managed to get down to a dull roar but never went away entirely. Many of the electronic appliances are brought in from Asia and run off adapters with no grounding pins. I got a mains electric shock from a broken light, and when I called up, was asked if it could be fixed tomorrow. This all said, the rooms were clean, there was milk for tea and coffee, the views are still great. She put in an effort to get the spa cleaned out and heated (though she didn't know how to operate it herself), but it never heated up past 15C, so we didn't get to use the spa, even though it's advertised. A well appointed kitchen apart from the lack of a stove top, just electric fry pans, oven, microwave, and fridge. The trash was emptied daily.
