DinoFacts🦖: Plateosaurus was a herbivorous bipedal dinosaur, which lived in the Late Triassic period.
The abundance of its fossils in #Swabia (#Germany 🇩🇪) has led to the nickname 'The Swabian Lindworm' (Schwäbischer Lindwurm) after a mythological serpentine dragon 🐉🐉🐉

#DinoMap🦖: Ninth stop on the UK leg of our #WalkingWithDinosaurs tour is #Glasgow! #Scotland has the honour of being the host of the world’s largest dinosaur: "Dinosaur footprints belonging to the largest animal to ever roam the planet have been found in Scotland... Dozens of the 170 million-year-old fossils, belonging to early sauropods, have been unearthed in a muddy lagoon on the Isle of Skye"

DinoFacts🦖: Liliensternus was a bipedal carnivore that lived 210 million years ago in what is now #Germany 🇩🇪.
This dino gets its name from the amateur paleontologist Count Hugo Rühle von Lilienstern - who founded a paleontological museum within his own castle (1934) 🏰🦕 #DinoCastle

#DinoMap🦖: 7th stop on the UK leg of our tour is The O2 #London (14-19 August)! In nearby Surrey is the dig site of another fascinating find: The #Baryonyx!
This quick, fish eating dinosaur had more teeth than the #TRex and may have crouched on river banks or waded into shallow water to hook fish with its claws 🐟🐟🐟🐟🦖

#DinoFacts 🦖: #TyrannosaurusRex was a humongous carnivorous dinosaur whose name means 'Tyrant Lizard King' 😈🦎👑
Recent studies determined that a #TRex could chomp with a force of up to 5,000 pounds/square-inch. Its powerful jaws may even have been capable of shearing off a triceratops' horns! 😮😮😮

User

#DinoMap🦖: Fifth stop on the UK leg of our tour is #Nottingham! Home of one of the first ever sauropods discovered: #Cetiosaurus!
When first unearthed it was originally seen as a gargantuan, plesiosaur-crunching crocodile 🐊🐊🐊 And even appeared on a set of UK Royal Mail stamps, presented to the public at #TheNaturalHistoryMuseum in 2013 by David Attenborough 😯

User

#DinoFacts🦖: #Velociraptors, who's name means "swift seizer", were vicious carnivores - known for their speed and enlarged sickle-shaped claws...
Scientists have recently suggested that these claws would have been ideal to climb trees 🌲🌲🌲 or even other #dinosaurs #DontLookUp 😨😨😨

#DinoMap🦖: 2nd tour stop is #Birmingham! Dig sites near the city uncovered one of the first dinosaurs ever discovered: #Megalosaurus! This large carnivorous beast was even mentioned in a #CharlesDickens' novel (#BleakHouse) 📕
While describing a gloomy day cloaked in fog, Dickens wrote: "It would not be wonderful to meet a Megalosaurus, forty feet long or so, waddling like an elephantine lizard" 😮
