Have been coming here for a good 12-13 years, always one of our favourite places. Not sure what has changed in the last 6-12 months, but it hasn’t been for the better that’s for sure. Decided to have lunch here yesterday with my mother and grand mother. The food was terrible. The schnitzel I had was literally slimey, the panko fish my mother had was so tough, she could barely chew it and the burger my grandmother ordered was so oily, the even after cutting it in half, it just fell apart all over the place. I ordered a kids meal for my son that comes with a drink and ice cream voucher. Upon trying to order a drink for him, I was advised that the only choices were from their post-mix options. The only option that is NOT soft drink and is only moderately more appropriate for a young child of four years, is orange juice, nothing else. This is completely unacceptable to not offer more healthy varieties for young children, or to even offer more fruit juice varieties. Literally ANYTHING other than soft drink! When mentioned to the bar staff, he suggested soda water or tap water! I was disgusted. How can you claim to be family friendly, yet don’t have basic needs for younger children met. Also, not entirely sure why cocktails have been removed?! Used to be a lovely day out to spoil my grandmother with lunch and a cocktail while overlooking the lake. Such a shame we’ll have to find somewhere new that actually caters for everyone.
