We have an interest in carnivorous plants and just spotted this video which is amazing!
We are now selling bulk waterplant food bags on our mail order website. Ideal for anyone repotting or planting multiple waterplants.
Our mail order season for bare rooted plants has started. You can now order most temperate waterlilies and many water plants, including some Louisiana water iris in limited stock. first plants will be posted Monday 20th August.
There will be some new releases on the site during the season, including this stunning waterlily, Wanvisa.
Our temperate waterlilys that have had their lettuce looking winter leaves under the water are starting to wake up and stretch their summer leaves up to the surface. So we are staring to pot them and soon our ponds will be overflowing with lovley lilys and we will reopen our mail orders.
coldest morning this winter and the watergardens are a winter wonderland
Some photos in our garden
some winter flowering orchids in the rainforest
the leaves on the paint brush lilies are so sculptural
The bed of Velthamia are flowering near the bottle trees. Great foliage great flowers.
And at the back of the cliff pond a line of cliveas flowering. These guys like wet feet and this area is occassionally inundated.
Today in the garden, the red hot pokers are on fire. The honey eaters adore them.
We have gone from those end of summer days to the deciduous leaves turning and falling, Auntumn passed in a flash and winter is knocking on the door.
On the way home we went to the two board walks at Urunga- one coastal and one a wetland to rehabilitate toxic contaminated waste from an old mine. Both were gorgious.
just back from a quick trip to the queensland rare plant fair, also got to see some great plants in the Mount Cootha botanic gardens where the show was held and that last picture is a fern!
there are interesting orchids in the rain forest and the aptly named Beatle orchid in the green house.
It's Autumn here and we are preparing our winter areas for plants. Even so there are still lots of interesting plants about.
one place we stayed, nice ponds and lilies.
