Waterfront Store

The location and design of the Waterfront Star deserves 5/5 stars, but honestly the staff make me want to give it 0. There seemed to be some issue going on with the service staff and they took their anger out on me, as well as getting my order for a simple drink wrong twice. They were very rude about it with no attempt at an apology. Our garlic bread also came burnt and wrapped in foil, looking a lot like the frozen store bought stuff. However, the older male host was incredibly welcoming and charismatic, and quickly found us a seat despite it being very busy.

Good food but poor, chaotic service front of house and kitchen.
Ordered 3 items for meal. Kitchen forgot two of them. Wait staff were asked and promised they were coming. Never arrived. They agreed to take missing items from bill but showed little care of customer perception.
Suppose its a captive market there and they dont care. Wont be back.

My partner and I booked a table in advance for my birthday. We arrived 8 mins late due to lack of parking and a wedding happening inside the restaurant which we were not informed about when we booked. We were waiting to sit down when we were approached by a staff member named Jackie who was blunt, rude, and had given our table away. They had our contact details when we booked it and did not contact us to see where we were even though we were only 8 minutes LATE! She was so obnoxious and said there's a seat on the end of a long table with the bridal party on it or a little corner shoved in what they called the shed which is cramped. We were so shocked by the customer service provided before we even sat down we decided to leave. I have heard a few complaints about Jackie but seems they never get heard as she is still there. Poor poor Poor!!!

A real shame. This place is located so nicely and the food is OK, but that doesn't make up for the appalling service we received last time we went. Everything from wrong orders, to being outright rude to everyone in our group. It completely ruined our experience, which was surprising since about six months ago we had an amazing time here but how things have changed! To top it all off, we were planning to order desert bus weren't given the chance becayse we were very rudely told to 'move along' to make place for the next group.

We will not be going back here unless some serious changes are made to the attitude of the staff.

Great location has lots of potential but the service is shocking! Came as a group and all ordered at the bar in one go. But our orders came out in drips and drabs. Waited over 25 minutes for a drink and by that time I had almost finished my fries. Would not recommend. Bring a packed lunch instead.

WARNING GET TAKE AWAY NOT EAT IN, THEY CHARGE $5 FOR "HAVE HERE". Other than that, my hot chocolate was nice and croissant was amazing! Premium ingredients used (delicious cream and butter). Unfortunately I paid $13 for a Hot chocolate and croissant to "have here".... this is ridiculous as I could have paid $8 and sat in the same outdoor seat if I'd gotten take away! Service was fine. Generally the food options are quite expensive (about $9 across the board for quiche's, cakes etc). I'll come here again with my wife, but know now not to eat in lol... it's as if they don't want customers sitting inside (there was literally no one eating in).

I love it. I have been coming here since it was a hamburger joint that you could sit on the public wharf to eat and watch the postal ferry runs in a sublime location. The choice of food and seating have definitely changed, I think for the better. I always bring friends and family visiting from overseas or just from the east or south of Sydney To prove northern beach suburbs rule. We have never been disappointed in the food or service. Parking is terrible anytime. But the views and fresh yummy food make up for it.

Appalling service to say the least. Firstly the prices are set at Sydney mid- high range price points. There is no customer service for this price whatsoever. You need to order all meals and drinks at the counter which means that if you are with a group that all meals come at different times. We waited over 1.5 hours for our meals and followed up twice. When food finally started to arrive, mains were served before our entrees. Management and staff didn't seem to know nor care about what was going on - there appeared to be a an obvious disconnect between the manager, floor staff and the kitchen. We spent over $500 and weren't even offered any type of compensation for our bad experience such as free coffees or desserts. Its quite a pity because the location is superb, but this restaurant has seemed to have lost touch with providing good customer service and valuing their clients.I will never go back again.

If I could rate is 0/5 I would! I have never experienced such rude service in my life! I went with a group of friends and waited well over 2 hours for our meals, which came out at different times! When we questioned the owner after already speaking to a waitress she yelled at us to get out of her store! I have never been more mortified by an owner than I was then. Will never be returned, especially not to be insulted and attacked by the owner!

Utterly rude and unprofessional service. Food took close to 2 hrs to arrive and owner yelled at us when we questioned this the 2nd time. Have never experienced anything like it. Would give this zero stars. Would not recommend this to anyone

Beautiful spot and attentive staff. Food however is crazily priced. Burgers were bland, especially for the price. Be a fantastic place for a beer but you must order food to get a drink
