Hey White Lanterns Fans and Potiential guests!
This is an interesting video from Dick Smith, we (small/medium motels) have had no voice until now.
When travelling ( in particularly to smaller motels ) always book direct on the motels website or phone them.
... Fun Fact: We try and have better deals on our website than on booking.com, expedia etc. It works for a while until they email us telling it's a 'breech' of their contract if we don't offer the same prices!
(it's called 'Rate Parity' and we have raised this with the ACCC a few years ago, they don't care).
Booking sites actually steal 15% - 20% commission for doing nothing more than spamming google with a big advertising budget. They pretend they are offering better deals when they don't. They pretend they are 'partners'.. sure but $20 out of $100 room is more than GST!?
Did you know that Trivago is a lie and is owned by booking.com ? Did you know that Trivago ignores the motels direct website prices and only uses their own 'group' and a few competitors?
