Pros: Visually appealing interior and comfortable lounges. Powerpoints with usb outlets were plentiful. After-hours option for patrons over 18 and membership is open for people who reside outside the Fairfield area is an added bonus, though the process of lining up to key in your code cuts into the additional time. Relatively helpful staff and Security were friendly. There's a small café but I did not try any food or drink to comment.

Cons: Despite the newly refurbished areas, the female toilets were in a state and had such a strong stench the minute you opened the door. Toilet paper was strewn on the wet floor and muddy streaks all over the tiles. One of those places you 'hover' over and touch everything with paper towel as you leave.
I was seated on the lounge next to a high school student who was clearly using the facilities to charge her phone. She was on loudspeaker and playing a game remotely with her friends. She was audible over my headphones and easily the loudest person in the room over the groups of HSC students. Staff walked over, I made eye contact every time and they just ignored it. Other patrons were visibly miffed. I would normally have said something, but this was my first visit to that library in years and I took my cues from the staff as noise is obviously allowed or tolerated.
There didn't seem to be any designated quiet area.

I didn't try the wifi to comment on speed/connection and did not see the book collection.

Might return for the after-hours as most of the school children (and volume) will have gone, though it can get crowded during HSC time. Street parking clears up from 5pm onwards.

Honestly, i good place to be but the only problem is the feeling of being harassed by the security guard. As security guards i believe that they should not be so rude when asking students to be quiet. Screaming at high school students for being loud and using the excuse "there are people complaining about you" does not benefit them.

The security guard only observes when he comes upstairs and if there is someone talking he will always tell them is the rudest way to be quiet, but he did not see before that clearly those students were studying and just wanted a quick laugh.

The librarians ask much more nicer than the security guard thus why students would respect that. The security just cause a huger scene when asking the students to be quiet in a rude when and threatening students to leave "his library" because of a quick laugh or just talking and not even knowing that the students could be discussing about their school work.

In all honesty, a lot of students dislike only one security guard there and he is usually always working there. When he speaks to parents he also speaks in a rude manner, thus why i believe most students will over time shift to Liverpool Library.

I used to come here 3-4 times a week 2 years ago but now I don't want to come here at all especially after 3 pm on weekdays. Many students tend to come to the library just to have a chat. This is very interrupting as they talk so loudly, yet they are never get told off like before. Parents let their children walk around on level 2 making loud noises. I like the improvement on the facilities but it'd make the library a much more nice place to study if there's a quiet area as libraries are for people who intend to read books, not to talk.

Nice quiet place to study. Gets packed during HSC period though

WHITLAM Library was use to be more quieter and children reading more books, now it's like a time time zone for kids to play on computers for 2hrs which is too long and makes them very lazy.

Indeed the the library is quite noisy and very disturbing at times, also the library is quite dirty because too many people are quite ignorant when it comes to cleaning up their rubbish, and some children are not bothered with hygiene.

It's good that Free Wifi is provided and more computer is available, though 1hr is sufficient, if more time is needed then it's good to re-book again so other people can use it.

The library should allocate the computer areas, 1 for the children area where kids play games only, while the 2nd area is for people who need to do research, homework, checking emails and other related computer work. The 2nd area should more quieter so people can concentrate, this way the members and adults do not get angry with the noisy computer games).

Whitlam Library has caused too much frustration for their members and has lost its value, it's no longer a library as it used to be. It's more of noisy place for kids to hang out.

Lots of table and space. Good wifi. Very noisy, even in the quiet zone - other library users are just too loud
