live locally and have been attending this pub for 11 years now, when I was growing up this pub was lovely, the atmosphere and the feel to it was great every staff member was happy and the food was of a very high quality

I'm afraid the food has hit new lows over the years especially the steak, alot of the staff members are not friendly and act as though they do not want to be there, I get sometimes they may be tired but a smile and a "hello how are you" would go a long way in terms of customer service

I can name a couple of people that always have a smile and go the extra mile such as Kirk, Sara, Adelaide kat etc

years ago we had a pool table upstairs, we also had a table tennis table which was constantly used, it urged people to go upstairs for fun now it's gone and the environment is dead, I hope a few things change because as a local and a great customer that's been coming here for many many years I feel that we need to breathe new life into this establishment
and maybe even a rotation of staff

when I walk into the pub i would like to be excited upbeat and energetic to have a good night but instead the atmosphere is just depressing and slow

I think if that is fixed we could really see an improvement financially and alot more of us locals and everyone would enjoy coming here alot more

this review isn't bagging out the pub at all, just making a suggestion and putting my input hoping it doesn't fall on deaf ears

Mostly based my rating on their selection of beers. Based on the fact they had a craft beer festival a few weeks ago, I was expecting some decent brews on tap. None to be seen, but plenty of the commercial stuff if you're into that. Food was ok.

Had a complaint to the manager who said "what do you want me to do"
Felt very belittled.terrible customer service!

Very expensive and the food is terrible
Maybe if there was competition in the area they would change their attitude and adjust their prices

Good old Willoughby Hotel. Called to book and reserve a table for the Mayweather fight and was told they're not reserving tables. Come in and what do you know, tables are reserved. Tried to talk to one of the managers about it and she didn't want to hear it. Told me with her arms crossed while looking at the screen "oh well there's tables upstairs" and a smirk on her face. The service just gets better every day...

Nice, friendly staff and fast service. However the medium steak that I ordered came blue rare and still cold in the middle. There was no problems returning it though.

Totally, outrageously, overpriced for what you get in return. A pint of premium beer - e.g. Coopers - is $12.60. The food is famously bad ("oh McCain - you done it again"), packet gravy, processed freezer food for the deepfryer and so on...

Management is exploiting the lack of competition in its vincinity. I recommend you go somewhere else unless you have no options.

I used to LOVE the Prawn Tacos. But now they are not on the menu i am very disappointed.
BRING BACK THE PRAWN TACO PLEASE!

Burger was a little dry and the twice cooked pork belly was salty.

Quaint pub in Willoughby - great for having a nice quiet chat with friends.

We went there for pre dinner drinks before a Christmas Party - good location. We went to dinner and came back for after dinner drinks. That's went it went downhill! We were minding our own business having a few drinks. One of our party hard a loud laugh, which he has had for his whole life. A local had complained and he was told to quieten his laugh! What a joke! Having a good time, not annoying anyone and we get told to leave. Because some local decided our friend had a loud laugh - what is Australia coming too! Can't go out and have good time without getting kicked out because you are enjoying yourself. Willoughby pub should be held accountable!
