Windjammers Restaurant

Great location for a very dinner. Food was excellent and they have some excellent cocktails. Service at the bar was a little slow and lapse in their attentiveness - but the service in the restaurant area was excellent.

Nice views overlooking North Wollongong beach. Staff are ok, however training is required to match the standard of other Novotels based on experience.

Very, very average food, not enough variety, desserts are generally lacking unless there is a public occasion e.g. Mothers Day, Christmas etc. Not worth the $$$. Overrated!

Stir fry made to order was good and staff were also helpful.
Buffet was very average with hot food Luke warm at best and poor desert. Comparable to food star or Smorgys and not worth $75/head.
Background music inappropriate.

Six of us ate there last Saturday for lunch. Very poor quality. Seafood buffet at $75 per head is very poor. The prawns are tasteless, the bugs dry and the oyster are the only thing that saved the lunch. The salads were ordinary. The cooked food bland. The desserts are not worth a mention. For 2017 don't bother. The staff were great.

Went here with my partner and sone friends. It was talked up a lot but when we went we were very unimpressed. Service was good but as for the value and variety of food avialable at the buffet i was very disappointed. Very little selection of food and desserts were beyond a joke.
Then i got the bill and nearly had a heart attack. For me and my mrs it cost $160.
Definitely not coming here ever again

My boyfriend and I went to Windjammers on NYE over 12 months ago for their buffet and were very impressed. We returned again on Saturday 13/5/17 and were so disappointed we won't be returning.

The cost was $75 per person which was ridiculous for what was on the buffet and the lack of service.

My boyfriend had 3 plates of food and I had 2, without anyone coming to serve us and take an order for drinks or clear our table. They were clearing other tables including empty ones but not ours.

Whilst the seafood range was great the hot food (which was what my boyfriend had taken me there for) was very poor. There was no roast/hot meat other than ribs which were as tough as rubber and we found rather difficult to cut and ended up putting the plate aside that contained them as it wasn't worth the effort for a small amount of meat. My boyfriend ended up having 3 plates of tortellini due the poor meat selection which is what he had paid $75 for, something he could have eaten at home for a LOT less money.

We did mention the lack of service to the cashier upon paying and exiting the restaurant and she stated that she agreed with us and that it seemed that because they had been on top of their service during the main dinner rush they had decided to slack off at the end. This didn't help us as we called to book and could only get in at 8pm. If they felt they couldn't serve us properly at this time then they shouldn't have taken our booking.

We certainly won't be going back and can't believe the downgrade in the service and food.

Don't get decieved by the pretty pictures and their great marketing, the dinner buffet was awful, the salads were half decent , how can
they go wrong with a bowl of spinash with no dressing. deserts were ok, but main food was uneatible , the pilaf rice dry and no flavour as well as the meats, pasta was disgusting, mini overcooked dry calamari rings and what it looked like frozen samosas and spring rolls,such an extremely expensive disappointment. STAY AWAY from the restaurant. Have to say that staff were nice until we said that food was so dry we couldn't eat it and the waiter responded "that's how it is at the end of the day" I responded that it
was exactly the same at the beginning of the evening as we arrived at 7pm and wanted to ask if it was any cheaper at the end of the day since you couldn't eat it, but he quickly disappeared. Ther are restaurants across the road that serve delicious food at a much better price. DO NOT EAT HERE
