Our wine is available through the cellar door, or direct. One little quirk - we have the only boutique cellar door with a Rugby Union flavour, probably in the world. Wombat offers some of the best single vineyard Hunter wines that you might find! We open on Friday (1pm to 5pm), Saturday (10. 30AM-5PM) and Sunday (10am to 2pm).

We are at the quiet northern end of country Pokolbin, so come and discover Wombat, and enjoy a personalised wine tasting in our cellar. All our tastings use Riedel glasses, and we offer cheese and biscuits as part of your sit-down tasting.

We're on the AROUND HERMITAGE Wine and Food trail, so why not plan to spend some time along Hermitage Rd and escape the press of tourists you find near Broke Rd and McDonald's Rd?

Wombat Crossing Vineyard is one of the Hunter Valley's smallest boutique producers of fine table wines. The range of wines shown is modest in size but exceptional in quality. Our vineyards were established from 1996, planted to the traditional forte of varieties for the Hunter Valley - Semillon, Shiraz and Chardonnay. The first wines under our label were vintaged in 2005. Each wine inherits its characteristics from the soils in its individual (single) paddock vineyard, naturally varied by the climate experienced during that vintage at our property. At Wombat you taste the terroir in the wine!

MEDAL MILESTONE
We're thrilled to let you know that during this 2018 wine show season, Wombat Crossing Vineyard reached a medal milestone.
Our wines have now won over 100 medals (101 to be precise) since our first vintage in 2005.
... All of us at Wombat Crossing Vineyard are very excited with this achievement, and we hope you continue to enjoy our award winning wines.

Come along and pay a visit to our Cellar Door and you can try the latest member of our wine list.
The 2015 Rosé was produced from our Shiraz grapes using the saignee method. The saignée method (meaning “bleeding” in French), involves making rosé as a by-product of red wine fermentation, where a portion of the pink juice from the grape must is removed at an early stage, which is fermented separately to produce Rosé.
Our Rosé has bright strawberry and cherry fruit flavours. It ...has a rich, refreshing palate with a crisp dry finish. Great for an Easter weekend picnic.
We only made 100 cases so don't miss out!
