I agree with the feedback about competing with the HSC students to get a space to do some work! If you get here at 9am you can watch the roller doors go up and watch them sprint up the stairs as if they were at the Myer Stocktake sale! Surely they could use their school library?

The children's play area is a ridiculous concept. If you wanted to open the slide once a day that would possibly work but I think some education for ALL of your patrons to understand that this libraries are supposed to be quiet reflective spaces - Not a place to catch up with your friends. Surely it is a sign that the noise is a problem with a majority of patrons who come to study are wearing noise cancelling head phones.

Basic signs posted around to encourage quiet in ALL areas, turn off mobiles or on silent would also help and please turn up the air conditioning a little.

Otherwise, thanks for caring enough to try and build a beautiful space. For that I am grateful. Whinge complete!

Who the hell decided to put a playground in a library, if I wanted to hear kids screaming I'd go to church to study.

Great place, fully furnished for anyone who wants to work. iMac and PC HP available. Fast wifi. Many books, and easy to find a table with plugs to work.

Beautiful architecture, but this is not the place if you are after a quiet place to read and study unless you can secure a spot in the usually full 'quiet room'. The low rating (updated from 1 to 2) is because of the level of noise (I'm sure those who use this place as their kids playground gave 5 stars).

It's a really cool design but unless you turn up before 9.30 you can't get a spot to work from. It's choc-a-block full of students every single day, even during uni holidays. At 9am when the roller-door goes up they literally run in to claim the best spots like a swarm of zombies and by 10am there's not a free desk space in sight.
As a casual library goer, it completely takes away the flexibility of being able to use the library for a few hours in the afternoon or random times during the day, other than first thing when it opens. The students even go to lunch and leave their things in their spot to hog it for the entire day.

Good design, modern and kid friendly. Many different spaces.

As someone else already commented- 5 stars as a children's indoor playground, 1 star as a library. If you don't mind going somewhere that feels more like a cafe where you can do some light research, the fit out is quite nice. However if you're looking to do any kind of serious study or work, don't come here- hardly any proper desk space, apart from a handful of tiny desks next to lounges; the constant sound of screaming children isn't conducive to real productivity. Disappointing that so much money was spent creating a new library that caters mainly to the needs of yuppie parents.

User

Great books, but all the children's attractions and play areas gets the kids over excited, I guess, as there is lots of noise from where they are. Other than that, it's great!

Beautiful architecture, but this is not the place if you are after a quiet place to read and study unless you can secure a spot in the usually full 'quiet room'. The low rating is because of the level of noise (I'm sure those who use this place as their kids playground gave 5 stars). Today, the loud non-stop music has taken the noise level to another level for the past 2 hours. such a shame.

User

The building is not nearly as nice as the old one near Red Leaf Pool, but all the staff are really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

It's a struggle to even have the frame of mind to browse for books with the noise of electronic entertainment in the children's area. Such a shame this couldn't be a quiet, contemplative place that encourages reading and research. I thought that is what libraries were about but maybe I'm old fashioned.
