Wupa - Wollongong University Postgraduate Association

WUPA is the FREE postgraduate student association for postgraduates at the University of Wollongong. WUPA exists to help postgraduate students and to improve postgraduate education, research and welfare.

WUPA provides assistance and information on the following services:

General Assistance on Student Matters:
WUPA is available to give independent advice to postgraduates. Common issues on which students seek advice include academic rights, administrative issues, assessment appeals, grievances, discrimination, sexual harassment issues, women’s issues, international student issues and supervision issues. Make an appointment with WUPA on (02) 4221 5396.

Advocacy:
The Student Advocacy Service provides free, confidential and independent support for UOW students who seek guidance on administrative matters, anti-discrimination, appeals, grievances, misconduct allegations, supervision concerns and the University's policies and processes.

The Student Advocacy Officer is able to liaise with Academic, Administrative, and Student Support services on a students’ behalf (such as Student Central, Counsellors, Disability Services, Student Support Advisors (SSAs), Learning Development and PASS) to assist students in times of academic confusion or personal hardship.

Free Postgraduate Study Room in Library:

There is a postgraduate study room located in the UOW Library on the Wollongong Campus. There are computers and quiet study areas within these rooms. Please ask at the library reception for the location.

FACILITIES JUST FOR POSTGRADUATES……

WUPA offers a range of social and cultural events to help postgraduates take time out of their studies and research to meet other postgraduates and have fun! WUPA offices and facilities are located in Building 19. G28, Northfields Ave, University of Wollongong.
