About Yarn Sydney - True Stories; Spun Live On Stage

TRUE TALES, SPUN FROM THE STAGE.

Yarn Sydney - True Stories; Spun Live On Stage Description

Yarn presents true tales spun from the stage.
Our aim: to entertain and satisfy a need for human connection through the art of storytelling.

YARN UNRAVELLED
* Yarn is the place to tell your true story to an audience.
* If you're interested in sharing a story, email: yarnsydney@gmail.com
* Stories should be between 7 and 10 minutes long (about 800-1000 words).
*All stories must be related in some way to the theme
* All our storytellers will be contacted before each bi-monthly event and offered a short rehearsal a day or so beforehand.
*No story? Easy, come listen instead.

FURTHER INFO
* Occasional live music included.

WAYS TO YARN
1. “Tell” the story. (Highly encouraged – no pages on stage, memorise what you need to tell an attention-grabbing story with a beginning, middle and an end. )

2. “Read” the story. (Highly discouraged – it makes for a less engaging experience all round. That said, we'll reluctantly allow it. )

3. Notes acceptable.

For excellent storytelling advice for the stage, check out "The Moth", New York's hugely successful and long-running storytelling organisation.
