Arrived to find my son in floods of years among a group of 8+ children all complaining of 4 days of intimidation and bullying by the older group of campers.
Despite our obvious distress staff simply turned away until my second request to see a manager.
My son has little or no voice after being held against the throat by a teenage boy and a bruised finger after it was bent back by another child from the older group.
It would seem he spent the majority of his time at camp avoiding the older group and has scarcely anything positive to say about his time away.
He has made me solemnly promise never to send him to anything like that again.
Such a shame and the polar opposite of the experience I was hoping he'd have.
It should be noted that when I had called to check on him on the thursday I was told he had been on a time out for swearing but was otherwise having a fantastic time.
I trusted these people to care for my son - that trust was sorely abused.
Great place. Clean n tidy.
The giant swing is amazing and the other activities
If you ever come to this camp I recommend the instructor Jasper he is a fun and funny guy I came on the 6th of September 2017. I would love to come back.
Great food
Just annoying when people are saying hurry up in the showers
Great staff.
Camp Jabiru represents! Amazing staff, patient and helpful!
I went to a PCYC camp regularly back in the late 70's or early 80's wehn I was 13-14y.o'ish. The place was named Camp McKay, is this the same place?
The sanitary was very poor.
Broken toilets 🚽 and no drinking water available for school camp kids.
Activities they did at the camp was good. Kids enjoyed most of them.
Veg Food was very bad.
Ok im gonna write shorter than my other camp reviews becuase now im tired. everything was awesome apart from dinner and in my lunch burgers was a bug from the lettuce! in summer when i went there were loads oof bugs and yucky insects. for morning showerers there wasnt enough time given before breakfast.
A LITTLE TIP: please keeps toilets in cabin room. its much more convenient. :):):):):):)
