Zinc On Darby

Went to Zinc for dinner cause they had a few vegan options. The waitress in general seemed a bit confused, distracted and was probably new. She took our order in a rush and didn't repeat it back. We ordered a vegan pizza and chai latte and emphasised that we wanted vegan options. After a long wait she brings out a non vegan pizza and is convinced that it's vegan until we pointed out the very obvious cheese on it! She was sorry and said it's her fault and later brought a very rushed undercooked and horrible tasting pizza (literally didn't even have salt and pepper). Couldn't have it at all. I'm certain the chai latte wasn't vegan either even though she said it was. The 35% discount doesn't make up for the horrible service that we had to face, even though there were probably only 6 people dining in there. Sorry, but not going back.

Went here recently and food was okay. Service was a bit weird. They told us to take a seat anywhere but we went ignored and my friend had to go and get the menu herself and we had to order at the front. Only afterwards someone had checked if we had ordered and left before we could even ask for some water. There was another lady who had to walk up front to ask for the menu as well. That asn't really table service.

Thought we'd try something different from our usual place Goldbergs last night. Thoroughly disappointed with the quality and service. Not only did we have to wait over 50 minutes for our meals to come (Gnocchi and Beef Nachos) which could have been forgiven if the food was decent or if it had been extremely busy but neither were the case. The beef nachos were average, however it was the gnocchi that was the true let down. Usually, I'm not picky and will still eat what's on my plate even if it's not great but this was something else, I can't even begin to describe the flavour. We were unable to finish the meal and left 90% of it on the plate. Our feedback was given to the staff and we were given a whole $6 discount to the bill. Yet another blow to this experience. I have only eaten here on one other occasion and again had to wait an hour for my food to come. There is a reason we always go to Goldbergs, always consistent and good quality. Extremely disappointed and won't be returning.

Zinc has been my go to for eating out and we have been regulars for years now, however the service has been gradually declining. From mistakes to truly rude staff. The tipping point was last week when we went for lunch and the waiter was so rude to us we walked out and went and tried the Depot. Great food and great service there! That's we'll be going from now on.

Lovely salads, great sweet potato chips. Wonderful accommodating service. Tailored our meals according to our needs.

Great food and service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Always come here for a feed when I'm in town and have even driving from Sydney specifically to grab a feed

A regular for many years - great value, great food and generally fast service. Always the goto place for breakfast on Darby.

Oh my god, what a crashing failure!!! Waited well over 1 hr 15 mins for 6 meals. People who were not even in the joint when we ordered got fed before us. We are still sitting here waiting for our meals so I can't tell you what the food is like. Gobsmackingly poor. Busy is no excuse for such disastrous service.

Sent my potato rosti back because it was undercooked, came back cooked more but still undercooked. Also pretty sure same egg was re-fried because the bottom was super overcooked and not able to eat...so basically paid $19 for an egg yolk, quarter avocado and 1 mushroom.
