Zipper Noise was founded in Jan 2018 by Mark Bassett.

Mark possesses a unique combination of experience and qualifications in audio production, education, software development and research:

- 8 + years working at the highest level of commercial audio production at Turtlerock Mastering.
- 11 + years’ experience lecturing audio engineering and sound production at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at multiple providers.
- International academic management experience in Australian, UK, US and UAE Higher Education systems.
- Apple Developer with countless technical ear training and audio engineering education applications developed to date.
- PhD candidate (critical listening and technical ear training)
- Masters Degree in Design Science (Audio Design) with research honours.
- Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching
