Aardvark Furniture Market (Permanently Closed)

I've bought and sold to Aardvark furniture and always get a decent deal and great service! The furniture is so different, I've spent a few good sessions looking for an odd piece or bargain. I've got a beautiful 8 piece dining set and all my daughters bedroom furniture from here. The staff are great value too.

A Canberra Institution! One of the few remaining local businesses, run by one man, Greg. A lovely chap with a warm demeanor, he has managed to keep this place afloat almost single-handed. I buy almost all of my furniture from him. The other reviews fail to recognise the Hurculean task Greg manages to pull off in running his business in Canberra. I know people who have a bad experience are more likely to write a review, so I wanted to let people know that Aardvark is doing the best they can. Buy your furniture from Greg and support a local business. They will buy back any furniture they sell, granted for much, much less, but in our case, it's easier than renting a moving van.

Unimpressed. I rang Aardvark at 2pm to make sure Greg is coming to quote on a lounge suite and possibly a wingback and ottoman, and was told he's on the road. I rang again at 3pm and they said they will call him and tell him. I rang again at 3.40. Then Greg rang and said they went to another house thinking that was my house. He said they can only offer 33% of $800 for the lounge suite, ie $250, and out of that they have to pay the public servants and the taxman. I said I have a wingback and ottoman. He said $150 and I agreed. Then he said put it on Allhomes first. Thats how I reckon he managed to avoid coming to the house. A slack operation!

I contacted Aardvark to come have a look at second hand furniture I wanted picked up. I woke up at 8 on a Saturday morning for the guy to come at 8:30, nothing. Didn't hear from anyone until about mid-day. She then said they guy "forgot" and would come in the afternoon.. Again after waiting around.. No show!
Not how a business should be run, was very disappointed!
